Solar and wind and hydro power win! The world is changing for the better, and renewable energy has come out on top and ahead of fossil fuels. This is no small triumph. Since the beginning of the industrial age oil has been the king of the hill. Now the tables have turned, oil and natural gas are obsolete, and coal is just plain not a viable option for fuel anymore when compared to the long term benefits (and profits) from solar and wind power systems. Big energy is now renewable. And that is exciting news.
“The world is now adding more capacity for renewable power each year than coal, natural gas, and oil combined. And there’s no going back…The price of wind and solar power continues to plummet, and is now on par or cheaper than grid electricity in many areas of the world. Solar, the newest major source of energy in the mix, makes up less than 1 percent of the electricity market today but could be the world’s biggest single source by 2050, according to the International Energy Agency.” ~Bloomberg
The data is clear. Oil is over, and renewables have won the war.
There is still much work to be done.
This is an awesome start.
