Seattle Teens Help Build Tiny Homes For The Homeless

Sharing is caring!

In Seattle a group of teens, in conjunction with a nonprofit called Sawhorse Revolution and various engineers and contractors, teamed up to build tiny homes for some of the areas homeless.

By using crowdfunding, they were able to build several tiny homes successfully and raise funds to undertake a second round to provide more, including plans for a tiny home duplex more suited to families.

The tiny homes they make have to be mobile due to the communities being transitional in nature, so they need to be able to be moved.

The project not only benefits those in need but is also a great learning experience for the teenagers who participate in the construction. Each unit is built to high standards, and they aren’t afraid to employ new techniques or concepts in order to provide additional space while sticking to city building codes.
