This tree produces 40 different varieties of stone fruit – plums, peaches, apricots, nectarines, cherries and almonds, to be exact. With multiple varieties of each fruit. It is a project by contemporary artist Sam Van Aken.
The multi colored blooms attest to the variety, and the beauty of this “Tree of 40 Fruit” is unsurpassed in it’s food producing splendor. Of all the hybrid plants and trees I’ve seen, this tree is perhaps the most astonishingly gorgeous in the most practical way possible.
Imagine growing one (or a full orchard) of these trees on your property. Not only could you feed your family, but you could offer you community a much needed reprieve from store bought factory farm fruits.
It’s obvious by its beauty that this tree was created by an artist. The greatest beauty however is in the colorful variety of fruits this amazing tree provides. The rendition shows what this tree will look like at about 10 years old.
